Jaylah Jenell the Birthday Girl (The BIG 13)

I am so excited to see that my oldest, Jaylah, just celebrated her 13th birthday. To celebrate we did a little theme session. We looked back and found Jaylah at 3. So we did a 3 to 13 shoot and then some of her just being a "teenager" =). Jaylah introduced me to motherhood at the young age of 20. She, and her sisters, are the best things I have ever done in my life! Jaylah is a bright, smart, funny, and loving girl! She is an amazing big sister, daughter, friend, and person! She makes me proud daily, and I am so blessed that she calls me "Mom".

Spring Photography {Jed + Ami + Jannah = An adorable spring family Session}

Wow, it's been 3 years since I have taken photos for my brother, Jed, and his family! Jannah, lovingly known as "Baby Jannah" isn't a baby any more. She grows each time we see her. Although our family is now many states apart, I loved seeing how happy my brother, Ami, and my niece are! They love North Carolina, and for that I love it, too! Birthday Boys {Levi and Lucas turn 1}

Wow, one year! Levi and Lucas will be celebrating their first birthday next month, so we celebrated with a session that also included a super fun cake smash! Although, the boys were timid with the cake, they got the hang of it! Mom (Jamie) and Grandma (Kay) were a huge help, so was big brother Aidan!

I love-love-love the Wells family! The Wells are regulars with Photos By Jalaynna and it has been awesome photographing their family as they have grown, changed, and added new little blessings. Ron & Kathy {40 Years of Marriage and Counting}

40 years of marriage was the prompt to get my parents in front of the camera. Growing up I lived with the confidence that my parents would ALWAYS love one another, and this year marks a huge milestone. 40 years ago on November 28, my parents said "I Do" at the Montgomery County Court House, wearing lime green plaid, with my Grandma Bonnie and Grandpa Smith there to witness their marriage! My Dad is an amazing man. Someone I have looked up to my ENTIRE life. When life would hit rock bottom I could always count on my Dad to make everything work. My mom has personality plus! I have yet to meet a soul who does not love Mom. She is by far the most positive person I have ever encountered. Her love and passion for her job is something I strive to have in my own profession. Simply put, I don't think Jed and I could have picked better parents than the ones we are blessed with. My parents are two of my best friends, and I was so honored to get to take their 40th Wedding Anniversary photos. I love you Mom and Dad!

Wow, this young lady is simply gorgeous both on the inside and out. We set out in Wichita, Kansas to take one of a kind senior portraits for Faith. She was a breeze to work with, and I loved it that she came with some ideas, but also played along while I had some, too. Her clothing choices were spot on, and check out her hair! Simply beautiful! Along with Faith, we had two assistants, her mom (DeeAnne Eden) and aunt (Stacie Edens). They made our day amazing, and created memories with Faith that will last forever (for me, too!). Family Fun {2015} Tercia and her kiddos!

I have officially met one of the most patient people ever.... and her name is Tercia Gustin!! We took some family photos "awhile" ago and then my youngest daughter, Jaisah put a stop on all photography work for me! Little stinker!! Let me just sum it up with saying, little man is ADORABLE, Big Brother was VERY PATIENT, and mom was SUPER SWEET! We hit up our session at some local land here in Fredonia. The day was beautiful and the location was amazing! It was wonderful meeting and getting to know this family!

Mr. Hudson {GiGgLeS and sMiLeS 2015}

It was a bright and beautiful day when we captured Hudson's 18 month old pictures! We were so fortunate with the weather, and even more fortunate with the great location! We used some of the Baker's family land, commonly known as Pratt Corner, here in Fredonia! Thanks, Tammy Baker-- you're the best! =) Right from the start of our session Hudson was so content and happy with big brother Brody making him laugh. It was so fun to be behind the camera, but even better to have Brody right behind me being silly. Brody and Hudson have two amazing parents {Michael & Sara} who simply let the show roll and Brody do the work. Their method was a HUGE SUCCESS! Hudson gave us ALL of his great little grins. I'm sure as you view the gallery you can pick out the ornery one! As always, I feel that it is a blessing to capture pictures for the Saddler family. They are such wonderful people. A Beautiful Family {2015}

Wow, this was an absolutely beautiful day and location for an extended family photo session! We traveled near Chanute, Kansas to Summit Hill Gardens. There we had beautiful landscaping, and the most gorgeous lighting a photographer could beg for! It was simply a great session. Our youngest family member wasn't so sure of the situation, until good ol' mom came to the rescue with a lolly-pop! This sweetened the deal, and she came around. Big sister has posing down to a fine art, and worked her amazing smile the entire evening. Did I mention what a doll she is? It is evident how caring and loving this family is. I loved every minute with them!

I had a ball with Tosha and Chad and their super funny boys. We spent the afternoon cruising to family land and even took photos at their family "fishing hole!" They were a blast to work with and the boys literally had me cracking up! Chad was super patient which is an excellent trait for a man to have...especially during a photo session! =) Tosha is HIGHLY out numbered in this household, but she does it with ease, and a smile on her face, and with an occasional head shake! =) Thanks, Oneal family for letting me capture your fall family photos! Family Time {Atkins}

I was incredibly lucky to spend some time with the Atkins family on a beautiful Sunday! I was also incredibly happy that they selected me to photograph them again this year! We meet up in Independence, Kansas and I was totally entertained by their little guy! He loved having his picture taken and would smile and look at me at the drop of a hat! =) Little Miss Cutie has the most beautiful eyes! Not to mention that their parents, Linsey and Cameron, are the best to work with! Overall, we were able to get some really fun shots of the kids, and their family all together! Wedding Time {Brandon & Brittany}

On 10-11-14 I got to be part of a wedding that took place at Lil Toledo, a gorgeous location around the Chanute, Kansas area. The bride couldn't have been more beautiful and the groom couldn't have been more patient and in charge of helping get the photographs taken care of. Although, the rain had prevented the couple from decorating for their outdoor ceremony during the week, the day ended up being beautiful! Everyone in the wedding party was in great spirits and helped the couple celebrate their big day in style, making it extra special. Thanks Brittany and Brandon for allowing me and my second photographer, Hannah Dillon, and also our assistant, Kristin Shields for being a part of your incredible day. Carder {The cutie}

So I got the chance to capture photos of Carder the cutie for his birthday session... well we were rained out a few times and had scheduling conflicts so we were a little late, but we were still celebrating his "age change!" Any-Who, Carder is super cute and has an adorable personality and tons of energy! He's the kind of kid a photographer loves to work with! He would pose and smile and run to a new spot, and say, "Take my picture here!" So you can see why this job was a blast for me! Carder is the 3rd one in line of the Norris boys that I have had the privilege of photographing and I am a fan of all 3 of them! Gavin {Senior 2015}

Wow, what a great guy! Gavin and his mom, joined me at a location that has some family meaning to them. They have spent time fishing and hanging out at our first location. Which is what senior photo locations are all about in my opinion and they are what makes them unique to each senior! This place was a photographer's dream! There was logs, water, rocks, an old bridge... you name it, it was PERFECT! Not to mention Gavin was super easy to work with and Shannon enjoyed making the memory with her son! We next hit the town of Fredonia, and found some cool spots right here in our backyard! Overall, I think we captured some great shots of this super nice senior guy! Gavin, I hope you find many "non cheesy" senior guy pictures that makes mom super proud of her all grown up son! Thanks for giving me the opportunity to work with your family, you guys were amazing!

Torie {One of Fredonia's Terrific Seniors}

I had a blast taking Torie's senior portraits recently! She was a breeze to work with and knew exactly what she wanted, which made my job a blast! She is an avid golfer, and chose to take several of her photos at the Fredonia Golf Club Course. We also took photos on the front steps of Dr. Hill's home which has historical meaning for our community as it is the former location of a school. I also talked Torie into taking some photos at a barn location which is owned by the Oneal family and with the help of Tosha Oneal we captured some of Torie's photos at this beautiful location as well. Torie is a beautiful young lady, and she was a natural in front of the camera! I feel so lucky that she was referred to me by one of my senior reps, Savee. =) Torie I hope you find many photos that you love, and I hope you realize what a gorgeous young lady you are! Zeli The Famous {Dance is in SeSsIoN 2014}

I had a ball taking some hip hop styled photos for Zeli this past weekend. Zeli takes dance under the direction of Macie Lyons at Macie Marie Dance Studio. Macie's dance studio is located in Fredonia, Kansas. Zeli had her heart set on taking some shots out at the Mill Dam and also downtown. Zeli has a heart for dancing and was a joy to work with! Nick Birthday Boy Bash {5th Grade Manly Style}

I was super excited when Tiffany asked me to photograph her son Nick's birthday session this month. Tiffany and Rodd have 3 boys who are the cutest things ever. Hunter who is now in 6th grade, Nick a fifth grader and Carder who soon will be a preschooler. I did Hunter's birthday pictures this past year, now it was Nick's turn and soon it will be Carder's turn. I could tell at first Nick was nervous but by the end he was having a good time. We traveled to the Independence park and zoo and found some really pretty backdrops for our "man session". =) Nick is all boy and is very active in athletics, and all things outdoors. He has a great smile, but it took mom making him crack up to get it out! =) It was a great session and I always enjoy being around the Norris kids, they are awesome kids! Seniors Seniors Seniors {Savana Rose Senior Rep. 2015}

Savana is my final senior representative for the class of 2015. We meet up on Friday evening and hit a few locations around Fredonia, Kansas. Savana is a house hold name in our family as my middle daughter, Joee, thinks she is AMAZING!! After spending one evening with her I can see why. Not only is she super sweet, but she has a wonderful personality all her own. I love that she is out of the box and an individual. Which is what made her stand out on her application to be a senior rep! Her sense of style, and her ideas for her session were great! Bethany {Turns 1!!}

Wow, this baby is growing fast!! It feels like she was just at my little home studio for 6 month pictures and now it was time for her first birthday shoot! How is that possible?? We meet in Chanute, Kansas to capture this darling, and very active, cutie on the move. Her mommy, Darcie came with all sorts of props and ideas, but Bethany had some crawling and exploring on her mind so we had to just go with the flow-- which at this age is how most shoots go. =) However, I think we got some really cute shots of this cute little blonde! =) She loved being on the grass and at the end her cupcake smash was a HUGE success! Class of 2015 Sr. Reps {Kiley & Karley}

Kiley and Karley signed up to be two of my senior representatives for the class of 2015 back in spring. We had planned to do their photography shoot back in April and then I had to go and have a mishap that included a seizure, and a broken shoulder that needed a plate and screws. These young ladies (and their incredible mom) were beyond patient and waited for the doctor to give me the okay to shoot again. So anxiously we all awaited the green light for me to begin taking pictures again, which was this past week! So with the help of my very close friend, Jamie Wells, we ventured off to some gorgeous family land and shot away! Kiley and Karley were naturals in front of the camera and were amazing to work with. The Nienstedt Family joined me in Independence for a family session bright and early this morning to avoid poor Beau's nasty teething situation! He has several teeth coming in and as you will see from his pictures, mornings are much better for him! Plus, it was much easier to bribe Jack and Grant {soon to be 6 year-old twin boys} with donuts afterwards if they did a good job! Kim and Marshall are not only co-workers of mine, but great friends as well. They were literally the first people I met in Fredonia when I moved there 3 years ago, so I was thrilled when they asked me to snap some family photos for them. They are great people and have been amazing friends. We had to wait out some morning rain showers during our session, but everyone was amazing and patient! I feel that we got some great shots! This adorable 2 year old came to Photos by Jalaynna in Rural Elk City, Kansas! Granted the photographer, Jalaynna Beers, just happens to also be her Aunt J-- but she was all grins and ready to go. She loved to climb and play peek-A-boo. Jannah Marie is a very happy and energetic little girl who has a complete mind of her own. This session was a blast and some of Jannah's best expressions were captured!

The INDIANS!!!

I had a great opportunity to travel to Oswego, Kansas to photograph this fine group of lady athletes. They were eager and willing to go with any pose we threw at them. The girls were super easy to work with and they even had a few creative touches to add here and there. Thanks ladies, for allowing me to photograph your team! Good luck this year and let's get a repeat trip to State! Thanks again, Coach Wells for giving me this wonderful experience.

Engagement Session {Brittany & Brandon}

If I had to sum up my engagement session with Brittany Tindle and Brandon Allen in three words I would use AMAZING, COMFORTABLE, and AWESOME! This couple was so comfortable with each other and the camera, just looking through their photos you can tell how much they care about each other and how much they are in love! Their support system is amazing! Not only did they have a few really close friends there, but Brittany's parents were right there, too! Their amazing support system was there to help gather props, do some creative writing, and even helped to get all of us to laugh! Bottom line, this session was AWESOME! I love every session that I am a part of, but this is definitely going down in the books as one of my all time favorite sessions! I was invited to travel to Brittany's stomping grounds in Southeast Kansas and we took their session on family land, which makes these pictures even more special. It was such a beautiful day and there was no wind-- a rare occasion as of lately! Instantly, Brandon was more than cooperative and was extremely laid back, a feature that makes my job that much easier when it comes to dealing with future grooms. Brittany had some really cute creative ideas, and was open to just going with the flow! It was a great day and I was very pleased with the photos we were able to capture!! Brittany and Brandon, thank you again for giving me the opportunity to photograph your engagement session! I truly look forward to being your wedding photographer in October! I hope you find several photos that you can't live without and that make frames in your home!

Wow, it has already been a year since this adorable little girl was born. This cutie was my first professional session, so she will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart! On Friday evening she brought mom and dad (Jennifer & Albert Abbe) out to my in-home studio in Elk City, Kansas (Southeast Kansas) for a cake smash session ! Mom brought an adorable cake (made by Stacie Edens), some party balloons and her birthday pinata! We were all set for a cute session. Ayla is pretty comfortable with me since I have done her photos since birth and Friday was no different! She giggled and was on the move! It was a great evening and I was very pleased with the photos we were able to capture!! Abbe family, thank you again for giving me the opportunity to photograph this precious little girl!

One of the Cutest Little Boys comes to Photos By Jalaynna in Southeast Kansas

A blast would describe my Sunday afternoon that was spent with Kourtney, Malcom, and Malik! Malik also brought his Grandma Terisa and Aunt Kaitlyn to help make him smile. A mini basketball cake and the crew headed out to my inhome studio in Elk City, Kansas (Southeast Kansas) for a cake smash session and some quick family photos! It was such a beautiful day so we headed outside and let Malik run the show! I loved how comfortable Kourtney and Malcom were with just letting me snap away! None of our photos were extremely posed; it was so much fun to watch this little family interact with one another! After our fun in the sun it was time for Malik's Cake Smash Session! Malik LOVED his cake; it was hilarious watching him dig in! Not to mention that while eating we jammed out to some Bruno Mars as this is Malik's favorite music. He danced away and giggled as he ate nearly his whole cake! It was a great day and I was very pleased with the photos we were able to capture !! Kourtney, thank you again for giving me the opportunity to photograph your family!

The Croisant Family {Super Sweet}

I was so lucky to get to continue my weekend with the Croisant family! They brought the entire gang for a family session to my home studio in Elk City, Kansas (Southeast Kansas)! This family was all smiles in the beginning and I learned really quickly that Bailey is all business, Bethany is a cutie pie, Darice is an amazing mom and Jaime is the most supportive husband ever! I've known Darice what seems like my entire life as we both grew up in Independence, Kansas and even were locker buddies one year of high school! It was a great day and I was very pleased with the photos we were able to capture !! Jaime and Darcie thank you again for giving me the opportunity to photograph your family! I truly appreciate it! =)

I was so lucky to get to spend part of my Friday evening with The Edwards family! They brought Graig out for a one-year-old session to my home studio in Elk City, Kansas (Southeast Kansas)! This little man was all smiles in the beginning and I learned really quickly he laughs for his daddy! I've known the Edwards family for several years and captured family photos for them about a year ago, so I was amazed when I saw how much this "baby" had grown! It was a great evening and I was very pleased with the photos we were able to capture of this handsome little guy!! Wow, what a fun evening I had on Thursday! I was given the opportunity to photograph the youth wrestling club in Fredonia, Kansas. It was fun working with many of the faces I see daily at school as well as meeting some future students and new kiddos! The kids were wonderful and ready to strike their "GO" pose! Some of them are just so darn cute! =) Check out the complete album at PHOTOSBYJALAYNNA.ZENFOLIO.COM! The "Go" pose will be used as the individual picture for the packets that have been pre-ordered, and the seated pose is what will be cropped and used for button photos! I appreciate the wrestling board giving me this photography opportunity!

I was given an amazing opportunity to take holiday photos of the Saddler family this past Sunday. Sara and I work together as she is a 2nd grade teacher in the building I also teach in! Her husband, Mike, works at the community college in Chanute…. and it's official they have two of the cutest boys ever! Brody is two and everything about him is adorable including his little voice! Hudson is new to the family this year and has the cutest grin ever! The session was quick, but everyone was super cooperative and I loved having this great family out to my house for a session!
